This fun new film from the FELIX® cat food people aims to show just why it is that cats knead their surroundings from time to time.
If you know cats, you know that they 'knead', pushing the floor alternately with their left and right paws. Some cats 'knead' with the claws retracted, while others stretch out their claws during the action – it seems to be a personal preference.
Because of its motion, sometimes this kneading is referred to as making biscuits, and it's accompanied with that sense of comfortable satisfaction that that kind of baking is associated with.
Either way, kneading is accompanied by a feeling of deep contentment in cats – sometimes they even drool while they're doing it.
That got the Felix cat people thinking, and they set off to discover just what it was that had cats behaving in such a way.
Take a look to the film to see how they did it – it had the youngsters in our house oohing, ahhing and giggling in equal measure – and you may be surprised by the findings.
