Teignbridge Council is advising residents and visitors that Dawlish Town Beach has today (Wednesday, June 15) failed a routine Environment Agency test to ensure mandatory standards of water quality for swimming.
Dawlish has become one of the first communities in the country to be given radical new powers to help residents play a greater role in determining the future of their town.
Four of the area’s resorts and beaches have been recognised by international award schemes, with Dawlish Warren achieving the prestigious Foundation for Environmental Education (FEE) Blue Flag award for a historic 13th year.
Teignbridge District Council is encouraging residents to rummage through their attics for old photographs or documents that could reveal the fascinating history of Dawlish Warren for a special event at the visitor’s centre on Sunday, May 8.
A cafe owner in Dawlish has been found guilty of fraud, after falsely claiming £8,713.20 in housing and council tax benefits.
