A Dawlish business is angry that having lost 75 per cent of its business through road works, it has been told by Devon County Council that it will not receive any compensation.
Householders living in Teignmouth, with identical houses have an average £43 difference in council tax depending on which side of the road they live on.
The people of Dawlish have put more than 1,000 signatures down to fight the sale of the Manor House, and nearly half of the 260 people turned up to a Dawlish Town Council organised meeting were turned away because of insurance concerns – the room could only hold 140.

Dawlish redevelopment proposals include a casino, a new enclosed pavilion with an arts cafe, a posh restaurant overlooking the railway and modernising the town centre and outlying areas, plus the sale of the town council offices – the Manor House, a 200-year-old Grade II listed building in the Manor Gardens.
