Torridge and West Devon’s MP Geoffrey Cox has followed up a meeting with the Economic Secretary to the Treasury by laying a series of Parliamentary Questions to the Chancellor of the Exchequer with regard to the use of red diesel in farm vehicles when supporting community activities and the potential for a change in policy. HMRC’s actions in fining John Thorne of Hartland has cast a shadow of uncertainty over the extent to which farmers can use their vehicles to help local communities.
